Iowa, 1914
Justice Kuhns performed the ceremony in the happy event that united Mr. John Hutchinson and Miss Emma Steinke in the bonds of matrimony yesterday afternoon in the Paul Davis store, and, when he had concluded Dr. A. J. Northrup, pastor of Grace M. E. church, gave the young couple a few words of good advice to guide them on their way, and offered a short prayer.
An Edison phonograph played the wedding march, the selections being "In Happy Moments" and "Hearts and Flowers." The bridal couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Steinke and the Misses Jorgensen, two pretty young lady employes of the store, acted as ribbon bearers.
The ceremony was witnessed by something like two hundred people and at its conclusion many of the spectators went forward and offered congratulations. Before the wedding party disbanded, a flashlight picture was taken of the group, including the minister and justice of the peace.
