Rev. J. A. Earl of Waterloo Says We Are Living Close to Judgment Day — Doom Near at Hand
Waterloo, March 10. — The Rev. J. A. Earl, who ran for congress last fall in the Third district on the Prohibition ticket, declared to a crowd that packed the First Baptist church to the walls that according to his interpretation of scripture we are now living in the last days, as referred to in 2 Timothy iii., 1-8.
He said there are indisputable evidences that the verses refer to the present time, and as proof he referred to the disobedience of children to parents, the utter disregard for law, both human and divine, and the many other vices that are rampant in every section. His sermon has created considerable commotion, and is much talked about all over the city.
