No Woman, Wearing Garb of Latest Fashion, Can Enter New Jersey Village Church

Groveville, New Jersey — Rev. Peter Henry, pastor of the First Reformed church, has refused admission to his church to any woman who wears a "hobble" skirt, and has denounced from his pulpit those who have adopted this style of dress. He terms girls and women who wear them as "walking balloons," "lunatics" and "godless." He says the style is a travesty, and asserts the girls and women who wear such skirts should be "spanked."

Since the minister began his crusade few of the "hobblers" can be seen in these parts, and although a number of women in his congregation had gone to considerable expense in placing skirts of this style in their wardrobe, they are now bemoaning the expenditure, as they have destroyed them or given them away.
